Looking Forward: Pinterest as a collaboration tool for real estateAugust 7, 2014
Pinterest has been on my mind lately…
An article posted a couple days ago in The Atlantic was interesting from a behind the scenes data perspective. There’s a lot of power within a user generated index of ANY sort of data. Imagine if you could tap into that power on your own website.
Oh wait, you can!
THIS is a running list of all user generated pins from the website of a small brokerage in Southern California called The Boutique Real Estate Group, who at this point has over 21k followers on their Pinterest business page, which focuses mostly on local neighborhoods, events, things to do, community info, etc.
Want to see if people are pinning images from your website? Copy and paste the following URL into your browser, and replace “mywebsite.com” with your website (http://www.pinterest.com/source/mywebsite.com/)
Pinterest is still a largely untapped resource for gaining quality traffic to your website. Every day people send over 2 million pins to each other. That’s a lot of data flowing back and forth. Pinterest recognized this an opportunity to improve their platform and just today announced the addition of user messaging with inline search features:
I see this getting increasingly closer to becoming a VERY POWERFUL collaboration tool for our industry. Something similar to platforms like Lasso.net where a husband and wife (or a client and their agent) can bounce pins of listings back and forth to each other discussing likes and dislikes, helping narrow their search to that perfect home they’ve been looking for.
